Meet Sue Haviland

Sue Haviland come to Finance of America Reverse LLC with a background that includes nearly 35 years in the mortgage business, the last 17 of which were focused on the reverse space. Sue has been an originator, trainer, speaker, and even hosted her own radio show “Senior Spotlight with Sue Haviland” which covered a wide variety of topics of interest to seniors. She founded Reverse Mortgage Success, a training company that trained loan officers who wanted to excel in the reverse space.

Sue is President of Step Smart, an all-volunteer non-profit in southwest Florida that educates the public on the importance of fall prevention, the risk factors, and the simple steps they can take to make their home safer.

Sue looks forward to being part of the team at FAR and her new role will enable her to pursue her passion of helping others to succeed. She lives in Marco Island Florida with her husband, Wayne. They have 2 children and 3 grandchildren who love to visit them and enjoy the beach. She is a proud Rotary member as well as a member of the Leadership Coalition on Aging for Collier County and the Naples Interagency Council.

The lender may charge an origination fee, mortgage insurance premium, closing costs and servicing fees (added to the balance of the loan). The balance of the loan grows over time and the lender charges interest on the balance. Borrowers are responsible for paying property taxes, homeowner’s insurance, maintenance, and related taxes (which may be substantial). We do not establish an escrow account for disbursements of these payments. A set-aside account can be set up to pay taxes and insurance and may be required in some cases. Borrowers must occupy home as their primary residence and pay for ongoing maintenance; otherwise the loan becomes due and payable. The loan also becomes due and payable (and the property may be subject to a tax lien, other encumbrance, or foreclosure) when the last borrower, or eligible non-borrowing surviving spouse, dies, sells the home, permanently moves out, defaults on taxes, insurance payments, or maintenance, or does not otherwise comply with the loan terms. Interest is not tax-deductible until the loan is partially or fully repaid.
